American Academy of Chefs
Through the American Culinary Federation
Foundation, the American Academy of Chefs
offers educational scholarships to high
school students beginning to seek a culinary
or pastry arts degree, college students
currently seeking a culinary or pastry arts
degree, professional chefs already working
in the culinary industry looking to further
their education or get certified, and
student culinary teams currently competing
at Regionals or Nationals. Please visit

Association of Culinary Professionals
Foundation
The Restaurant School
$4,000
scholarship towards tuition for an entering
freshman into either the two-year or
four-year program in Culinary Arts or Pastry
Arts. Scholarship award is $2,000 upon
admission; $2,000 for the second year if the
student maintains a 2.5 GPA in the first
year. An AS or BS degree is awarded.
ProStartฎ National Certificate of
Achievement Scholarship
The National Restaurant Association
Educational Foundation (NRAEF) is reaching
out to high school juniors and seniors to
provide them with the support they need to
continue their education in the restaurant
and foodservice industry. Upon completing
the National ProStart Certificate of
Achievement, you are eligible to apply for a
$2,000 NRAEF scholarship to continue your
studies in college.

Award amount: $2,000
American Institute of Food and Wine The AIWF Scholarship program was
created to support individuals interested in
the culinary arts and enology. Various
chapters offer scholarships to full-time
students attending an accredited college.
California Restaurant Association Each year, the California Restaurant
Association Educational Foundation (CRAEF)
awards scholarships to students seeking
culinary education and careers in the
restaurant and hospitality industry. Since
1981, CRAEF has awarded over $900,000 in
scholarships and grants to hospitality
students, educators, and trade or culinary
schools.
The James Beard Foundation.
The American
Institute of Baking (AIB)
awards scholarships annually to
self-sponsored students attending AIB's
20-week Baking Science and Technology (BS&T)
and/or AIB's 11-week Maintenance Engineering
courses. A single scholarship application
form assures the candidate of consideration
for all awards. The failure of an applicant
to qualify for a scholarship does not affect
admission status; he or she may still attend
AIB's 20-week or 11-week course, provided he
or she is otherwise qualified.

The IFT Awards
Program
Designed to honor outstanding individuals,
teams, and organizations for contribution to
the profession of food science and
technology. Members and non-members are
eligible for IFT Awards. Deadline for all
IFT Achievement Awards is December 1, with
the exception of IFT Fellow, February 1.
Marcel Loncin
Research Prize-This
prize ($50,000 paid in two annual
installments and a plaque furnished by IFT)
is given in even-numbered years to honor and
provide funding for an IFT-member or
nonmember scientist or engineer conducting
basic chemistry/physics/engineering research
applied to food processing and improvement
of food quality.

Clark E. DeHaven
Scholarship
The Clark E. DeHaven Scholarship Trust,
established in 1990, honors Clark E. DeHaven,
NACUFS' first executive director. The Clark
E. DeHaven Scholarship is intended to
provide financial support to students who
demonstrate a commitment to a food service
career. Applicants must be currently
enrolled in an accredited program that will
lead to an undergraduate degree in a field
of study designed to prepare students for
careers in food service, or related areas.
Awards will be made only to applicants
enrolled at institutions that are members of
the National Association of Colleges &
University Food Services. Currently, two -
$2,000 scholarships are awarded each year.
Women Chefs and
Restaurateurs
The mission of Women Chefs & Restaurateurs
is to promote the education and advancement
of women in the restaurant industry and the
betterment of the industry as a whole.
Coca-Cola Scholars
Foundation
although this is not specifically for
culinary students, awards have been given to
those intending to study the culinary arts;
scholarships are granted to 250 high school
seniors each year..
National Italian American Foundation
The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)
has an education budget of $1,000,000. The
NIAF will award scholarships and grants to
outstanding students in the summer of 2005
for use during the following academic year.
The awards will be made on the basis of
academic merit and divided between two
groups of students.

Culinary Education Foundation
The Program has two main priorities:
awarding scholarships to students who are
seeking careers in the culinary arts and
working with Chicago-area youth to promote
the enthusiastic quest for education as well
as an interest in the cooking and food.

organization committed to giving back to the
future of the industry. Chefs from all over
the world come together and raise money by
booking out their restaurants for food and

The Future Culinarian of America
Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit
charitable corporation promoting knowledge
and education in culinary arts by providing
funding for education and
educational-related expenses for students
who are attending, or who have been accepted
by, accredited, post secondary, degree
granting culinary schools.
